veerjee, this is just random but I was going to ask what's Sikhs view on revenge? I was going to write a paper on it but I see myself going back and fourth with the counter agrument. It's so confusing.

Revenge is not a Gurmat concept as it is based on 'krodh' and enmity.

The word 'badlaa' or revenge was not used by the Sikh Gurus.

Gurbani and Gurmat uses the concept of fighting for justice, delivering justice and punishing tyrants - not revenge.

During the period of Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, Dhadi Nath Mal was singing Dhadi Vaaraa outside Sri Akal Takht sahib. It is said that he sang that the Sikhs went and got 'badlaa' (revenge). Guru Sahib slapped the Dhadi and told him that he was insulting Gurmat principals by singing that.
