On 14th February (Valentine's Day) it was Bhaji Kamal Singh's birthday (from Wolverhampton). Bhaji didn't have the traditional Valentine's candle-lit dinner or box of chocolates, instead his friends in Birmingham celebrated his birthday in traditional Midlands style (by now everyone should have guessed what that means! - if not then please check out previous birthday posts).
Sat Naam. Nice pic of Bhaji Kamal Singh (reminds me of pics of Kirtani on the frontcover of tapes and CDs).
Bhaji thinking "Err... what do I do with this?"
He realises its his B'day card!
Waheguru. Erm looks more like a Valentine's Card than a B'day card!
Tasty looking (eggless!) birthday cake. Is that a light at the bottom of the cake?
"Friendly" looking birthday guests. (They look more like bouncers at the door!)
Bhaji opening his presents. (The presents are nicely wrapped!)
More pictures of friendly looks Singhs and bhenji. Looks like they are waiting for a fight. Rab Rakha!
Camera Shock. Bhaji opening more presents.
Nice arm-pads for Gatka.
A belt (kamar-kassa) to go with the arm-pads.
Opening more presents. Luck bhaji!
Waheguru. Nice Kesri (saffron) colour pagh and a Mala (rosary beads). I can guess now why they call bhaji "Sant ji".
Rab Bhalla Kare! I don't know what Pardip Singh (aka Dhadi Master jee) is doing wielding a sharp knife. He might be anti-Sant or something or threatening bhai sahib to listen to his Dhadi lecturer or else.
People watching the tamaashaa (ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ). lol.
Good old force feeding cake by Charan-Kamal Singh bhaji. Bechaare Kamal Singh!

I hope Kamal Singh's allright - those Singhs and Singhni don't look at all friendly, not to mention the knife.
It's really about time you did 'sudhar' (or perhaps 'sodh') of these unfriendly people Manvir Singh ji.
Waheguru
(lol)
hmmm... i am curious.. how comes they always seem to celebrate birthdays at this very house?!!! (i swear its the same in all the birthday pics.. cos i recognise the curtains.. hehe)
lol
anyways.. Happy Birthday to bhaajee!! ;-)
Remind me not to celebrate my birthday in England :-)
Or at least not with Manvir Singh and friends, with a cake present.
Sat Naam, Waheguru.
Msingh bhai sahib:
You make it sound like I am Sri Akaal Takht Sahib's Jathedaar and that I should issue a Hukamnama against Midlands Singhs or something or ask them to come pesh. Waheguru. lol.
Anonymoys:
Perhaps some of the Midlands bhajis and bhenjis can respond to why all the Birtdhays are at the same venue. lol.
Prabhu Singh bhaji:
I would just like to clarify to everyone that I am NOT living in Birmingham and nor was I at any of these b'day parties! (Dread the thought of being there! Especially with Dhadi Master Pardip Singh holding a sharp knife in his hands, bouncer-looking Singhs and cake which ends up in people's face than the mouth! lol)
Guru Rakha :)
looks like fun
Midlands people are really rough!!
I used to know some Singh who was from the midlands, he swore alot and was really hot -tempered. lol.
Once i asked him i said "why are 'midlanders' so rough"
He replied: "is so cold up here, we need a way to keep ourselves warm" LOL
Waheguru :D
But then we had a fight and we don't talk to each other anymore :'( i miss him!!!!
Probably slightly harsh to say "Midlanders are rough". I am sure there are "rough" Londoners, just look at Phil and Grant (well, i suppose that in tele).
I think Midlanders and people up North have a friendlier and more soft spoken accent compared to south.
This Salokh from Baba Fareed jee on Ang 1380 of Guru Granth Sahib jee comes to my mind:
ਫਰੀਦਾ ਬੁਰੇ ਦਾ ਭਲਾ ਕਰਿ ਗੁਸਾ ਮਨਿ ਨ ਹਢਾਇ ॥
fareedaa bure daa bhalaa kar, gusaa man na hadhaa-e.
Fareed, answer evil with goodness; do not fill your mind with anger.
ਦੇਹੀ ਰੋਗੁ ਨ ਲਗਈ ਪਲੈ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਪਾਇ ॥੭੮॥
dehee rog na lage-ee, palai sabh kichh paa-e. ||78||
Your body shall not suffer from any disease, and you shall obtain everything. ||78||
Rab Rakha.
those singhs look like they are going to beat up someone!
nice pics manvir singh ji, keep it up - do you organise these? or take the pictures?
waheguru!
anonymous bhai sahib - i have not organised any party!! (Rab Bhalla Kare!).

LOL :) I was the unfortunate victim of the party, I want to thank all for coming, it was a great evening. We did seva through the day followed by Rehras and Simran at Bebe Nanaki Gurdwara and finished by eating loads a cake!
Jus to let you guys now they were planning to get me with flour and ketchup etc (no egg lol), but Guru Rakha, the tables turned and everyone else was covered with tomato sause and Dhalian (oatmeal)!(with help of Bhai Mandev Singh and Bhai Inderjit Singh) Ha Ha.
Midlands people are friendly (no Bias!) seriously the sangat at Birmigham uni are truly chardikala and a great inspiration.

Yes, the birthdays take place in the same flat, in my flat at Bham Uni.
Self proclaimed sant, "Sant" Kamal Singh Ji "Sarangi Master" was NOT the innocent victim. if u look at all the previous bday photos, kamal was at the front wen the bday ppl got done. therefore we were gona take revenge. as dhadis say "Khoon Ka Badla Khoon liya jave ga". B4 the "party" started kamal ran away cos he was too scared. but he cudnt open the door downstairs so Indy grabbed him. Just like typical panthic gadaars, kamal, mandave and indy planned to get every1, and nsave kamal. so they went to tescos to buy the ketchup etc. we went out looking for them, we cudnt find them.
after the cake and presents bit, kamal and every1 went outside. we want to take our rightful revenge. but the "GADAARs" showed their true colours. every1 got done apart from Charan-Kamal Singh and myself.Guru was working wiv us.lol
Oh yea, kamal had tears in his eyes wen he got the presents and wen he was given his bday speech.Cry baby la la.
If Manvir Singh issues a Hukamnama, we wont accept it.hahaha.We'll make our own seperate authority wiv our own jathedar.lol.
Other thing. the sangat at bham is chardikala,(espeacially Bham UNI).We thank Vaheguru for the sangat we have at bham. the sangat does amritvela together every fridays, santhia at Walsall and also gatka on fridays. Maharaj has gave alot of kirpa.
I ask Manvir Singh, to bless us with his darshan with the london sangat. We would do a dhadi programme, so u lucky ppl will have the opportunity to listen to my LECTURE.hahaha

Dhan Bhaag, Dhan Bhaag... Dhadi Master, Bhai Sahib, Pardip Singh jee!
lol @ 'Self-proclamed "Sant"'
Nice to know Bhaji was overjoyed with emotion when recieving presents. Anyone who has met Kamal Singh will know that he is "Sant Sabhaao" (saintly natured) and very down-to-earth person.
In regards to Hukamnama - Automatic boycot and ex-communication if you disobey :) lol.
