Tuck your Kangha into your Kesh (some people tie a piece of long string to the Kangha so that the Kangha doesn't fall out when sleeping etc)

3. a) For tying a Keski you need enough material for wrapping around your head at least 2 times. So it might 1 and half metres or 2 metres. It depends. Most people usually use the material given as Siropa for Keski.
b) For the purpose of the Amrit Sanchar wrap your your Keski around the head but don't cover the top (i.e. just wrap the sides - go round and round).
c) If you are a Singhni and are just tying the Keski, then you can gently cover the top by pulling across one of the layers from the side. For Singhs you need to tie another Dastaar on top. Tie a normal Gurmukhi Dastaar (like Granthi/Raagi style) or if tying a dumalla be careful that you don't cover the top - instead right at the end pull across one layer and gently cover the top.

Hopefully that helps.

(Its bit difficult explaining on the Internet. If you have any problems, don't worry! On the day of the Amrit Sanchaar all the candidates are given time to tie a Keski/Dastaar and sort things out. There will Singhs & Singhnian available to help out if anyone has Dastaar problems).Manvir Singh (UK)https://www.blogger.com/profile/17987883036901467330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15914292.post-37287523046789569392009-03-31T19:17:00.000+01:002009-03-31T19:17:00.000+01:00Thankyou for your help Veerji : ) Just one more qu...Thankyou for your help Veerji : )

Just one more question if you don't mind - How do I tie my Dastaar on the day so that it opens from the top to reveal Kesh?

Sorry it may sound like a silly question though Im kind of struggling tying Dastaar at the moment :|Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15914292.post-89588269758428945712009-03-31T12:47:00.000+01:002009-03-31T12:47:00.000+01:00Bhenji, Kachhere and other Kakkaars will be provid...Bhenji, Kachhere and other Kakkaars will be provided for anyone who needs them. :)

Please ensure you have Keshi Ishnaan (wash your hair) on that day. Also the Karra and Kirpaan should be Sarbloh (iron). They are readily available from Gurdwara stalls, Panjab Roots (Smethwick), DTF (Soho Rd) or online (www.SikhiShop.com).

Guru Ang Sang Sahaaee.Manvir Singh (UK)https://www.blogger.com/profile/17987883036901467330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15914292.post-14690968581588875952009-03-31T12:32:00.000+01:002009-03-31T12:32:00.000+01:00WaheGuru Ji Ka KhalsaWaheGuru Ji Ki FatehVeerji th...WaheGuru Ji Ka Khalsa
WaheGuru Ji Ki Fateh

Veerji thanks for the link, with Guru Ji's blessings I'm taking Amrit on the 12th April.

Though I was wondering where can I get hold of Kaccheras in the Birmingham area?

Thankyou for any help.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
